02 What we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to you and to deliver our work:
  • •
Enquiries: when you use the contact form on this website, your first name, last name, email address and message.
  • •
Correspondence: the contact details and content of emails, calls and letters you exchange with us.
  • •
Projects: the business contact details and information we need to scope, deliver and invoice our services.
  • •
Website usage: anonymous statistics such as the pages visited, the referring site, browser, device type and country. These are collected without cookies and do not identify you.

03 How we use it

We use personal data for the following purposes, each on the lawful basis shown:
  • •
To reply to enquiries and prepare quotes, on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • •
To deliver our services and manage our relationship with clients, on the basis of the contract between us.
  • •
To keep accounting, tax and legal records, on the basis of our legal obligations.
  • •
To understand how this website is used and improve it, on the basis of our legitimate interests, using anonymous analytics only.
  • •
To send occasional news about our work, only where you have given your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

04 Who we share it with

We share personal data only where we need to, with:
  • •
Service providers who process it on our behalf under contract: Cloudflare, which hosts this website and protects it from attacks; Sanity, which manages our content and stores contact form submissions; Resend, which delivers contact form notifications by email; and Umami, which provides our anonymous website analytics.
  • •
Our professional advisers and insurers, where reasonably necessary.
  • •
Public authorities, where the law requires it.
  • •
A buyer or successor, if all or part of our business is sold or restructured.

05 International transfers

Some of our service providers, and our own US office, may process personal data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, we make sure the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

06 How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it:
  • •
Client and project records, including related correspondence, are kept for at least six years after a project ends, to meet our legal and tax obligations.
  • •
Enquiries that do not lead to a project are reviewed regularly and deleted once they are no longer needed.
We review the data we hold at least once a year and securely delete what we no longer need.

07 Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
  • •
Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • •
    Have inaccurate data corrected.
  • •
Have your data erased, where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
  • •
Restrict or object to how we use your data.
  • •
Receive your data in a portable format.
  • •
Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@platinum-3d.com. There is normally no charge, and we will respond within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and our analytics work without cookies, so we do not ask you to accept any.
The only cookie we set is strictly necessary: it lets our own editors preview changes to the site, and is not set for visitors.
Some pages embed content from other providers, such as Matterport virtual tours. When you interact with embedded content, that provider may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
