Context

Making way for a community hub

Broadwalk Shopping Centre in Bristol was built in the 1970s and went into administration in 2017. The site has since been bought by a developer who plans to demolish and replace it with a mixed-use scheme: a new community hub with much-needed additional housing.

Approach

The entire site, scanned once

Platinum 3D's team provided a measured survey of the entire site to create a detailed BIM ready model of the shopping centre, snooker hall, bingo hall, basements and car park.

Outcome

No return to site

After the plans were delivered, the client asked for a 3D model of the basement level, which will be partly retained in the new scheme. Because the entire site had been laser scanned, Platinum had all the data needed to create a Revit model of the basement and loading bay without a return to site.
