Context

Refurbishing a working hospital

A programme of maintenance and refurbishment is under way across the Royal Gwent Hospital. Surveying a live healthcare site means working around patients, staff and clinical routines, without compromising the data.

Outcome

Coordinated from the first phase

Platinum 3D's team carried out several laser scan surveys across the site to create BIM-ready Revit models to inform the design process. A control network installed during the first phase of works means all future work can be coordinated with ease.
As well as being instrumental to the architects, the data is being used to support FM management and maintenance.
