A house without precedent
With its tilt-up concrete walls, timber frame and rooms that open straight onto the garden, the house is a landmark of early modernism. Conserving it starts with knowing exactly what is there.
Inside and out
The house and its gardens were laser scanned inside and out, and the point cloud was used to build a detailed model of the concrete panels, timber structure and sliding canvas walls. Photorealistic renders and a navigable virtual tour were produced from the model.
A record for conservation
The model gives the house's custodians an accurate record for conservation planning, and a way to share the building with people who can't visit it.
